Hatch: Across reviewed and discussed in Incwriters

“A free street party or unique never-to-be-repeated event.”

Great article at Incwriters by Wayne Burrows (of Staple Magazine), looking at how some of the characteristics of Hatch could be applied to publishing and spoken word events (we’re definitely still interested in word-speaking artists ourselves, mind). If you don’t want to read it at the Incwriters site, the full text is beneath the jump. Make sure you read it somewhere though; we think it’s great (but then it is quite complimentary…)

Hatch: Abroad in The Guardian

HatchAbroadGuardianGuide

…or in the listings section of Saturday’s Guardian Guide, at least.

It is our first mention in the national press though, so forgive us for getting over-excited and putting it here.

Also worth getting excited about are Dream->work and Loin…(Far…) (top and bottom right in that scan), two other events in the nottdance09 festival. As well as looking like they’re going be great shows, both clearly have an even more convoluted relationship with punctuation than we do.

‘Brechtian Nightmare’

Here’s a link to a lovely blog-based review of Hatch: Wish You Were Here by Richard Pilgrim, which (among many other nice comments) manages to describe it as both “a human menagerie of weird and wonderful characters” and “like stepping into a Brechtian nightmare”. Both of which we’re taking as compliments.

Full text preserved for posterity after the jump, but why not follow the link to Richard’s blog and read it in context there instead?
