8pm – late
Hotel Deux, Nottingham

Following the success of our first Hatch event at The Maze in May, we would like to invite you to join us at The Hatch Hotel on 26 August 2008 at 8pm for another evening of the most exciting, intriguing and curious performance-y work we’re able to assemble in one place at one time.

We’re looking for performers, artists, musicians, storytellers, writers, magicians and others who don’t know how to categorise themselves but have an inkling for something they’d like to present to the public in a supportive, creative environment. If you’re not a performer but would like to help out in some way, be it technical support, documentation, dressing the venue or using any other skills you have we’d still like to hear from you.

The venue for the event is Hotel Deux (off Sherwood Rise in Nottingham), a former hotel which is now a bar, restaurant and music venue. The theme of the evening is Wish You Were Here and for one night only, we’d like to take Deux back to its hotel roots and present work which responds to notions of absence, longing and the Great British Holiday the day after Bank Holiday Monday.

We need you. We’re looking for hotel receptionists who can provide complimentary one-to-one performances on check-in, sinister chambermaids with heartbreaking secrets and sleazy house bands in shabby suits. As ever though, all ideas will be considered and nothing is off limits. If you can’t be in Nottingham on the day in question, we’d also be interested in any ideas you may have for contributing from a distance as we will, sincerely, be wishing you were there.

Please send proposals for things you’d like to do on a sheet of A4 to hatch@hatchnottingham.co.uk or to Hatch, c/o Nottingham Writers’ Studio, 1st & 2nd Floor, 37 Heathcoat Street, Nottingham NG1 3AG by Friday 18 July 2008 at 5pm. If you would like to know more about Hatch or have any questions, please email Michael or Nathan at hatch@hatchnottingham.co.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Hatch.
